I have used many navigation programs and I must admit that none comes close to Google Maps in terms of ease of use and functionality.
There is no limitation of specific number of Points of interest or the need to update the maps. Since it is not a offline navigation system, the app downloads maps on the fly which tend to be more accurate than offline maps.
Also the points of interests are obtained by Google search and there is no need to be very accurate in your spelling or the name. I have always found it very discouraging in GPS units/apps where you have to enter the exact name.
